I've been to New York several times now but always as a tourist who felt the need to rush around and fit everything in as quickly as possible: the sights, the shops, the bars and Central Park. I had more time on this trip and while I did revisit some of the usual traps, I also took the opportunity to seek out a little of that other New York, the New York of the New Yorkers. I went beyond Manhattan, which is what the rest of the world calls New York, and out to Brooklyn, Staten Island and The Bronx, home of the Yankees. I brought back fond memories, these pictures and a desire to see even more of it next time.
